Dainik Jagran was launched back in 1942 by Puranchandra Gupta.  The first headquarters was situated in Jhansi. But in 1947 it was shifted to Kanpur, the place where the second edition of Dainik Jagran was introduced. Since then Dainik Jagran has grown immensely and today it has thirty-six editions with a total readership around 54,254,000.
