About Dainik Jagran

Dainik Jagran was launched by Puran Chandra Gupta in the year 1942, at a time when India’s fight for independence was at its peak. Dainik Jagran is a newspaper that was founded with a vision to “create a newspaper that would reflect the free voice of the people” of India. The newspaper’s name ‘Dainik Jagran’ means ‘Daily Awakening’ in Hindi, and this publication has, over the decades, grown to become one of the most widely read news publications in all of India. It is estimated that Dainik Jagran has more than 3.6 million copies of the newspaper in circulation on any given day. As a matter of fact, Dainik Jagran was the most circulated newspaper in all of India in the year 2017! With a strong presence in 11 states in India, Dainik Jagran publishes 37 regional and city editions, catering to a total readership that is said to be well over 55 million people, making it the second most widely circulated Hindi language daily newspaper in the country.
